There are no shortcuts to success, especially in the business world. However, everything is possible for those who work towards their dreams and turn setbacks into opportunities. Even if the whole world seems to go against someone who dreams, success is not out of reach when one understands the value of never giving up. Such is the story of Iffy Maduewesi.

Before tasting the fruits of her labor as a businesswoman, the successful mompreneur worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in San Francisco when she immigrated to the United States in 1998. In her exclusive interview with Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Kate Delaney on the syndicated radio program “America Tonight with Kate Delaney,” Iffy talked about a different side of her as she navigates the business climate of the USA, specifically from the lens of an immigrant pursuing the famous “American Dream.” Now a published author, Iffy shares her struggles and triumphs in CHASING DREAMS: Two Inspiring Decades of Mompreneurship, an inspiring book for every entrepreneur.

A Book for Hustlers, Game Changers, and Goal Diggers

Iffy Maduewesi’s CHASING DREAMS: Two Inspiring Decades of Mompreneurship is a story of persistence, resilience, hard work, failures, successes, and motivation. Readers will see who she is mentally and psychologically in Iffy’s book. Iffy believes in “I still rise.”

Nowadays, it is expected to see people who start but do not finish, people with uncompleted projects, dreams, and desires who face one setback and give up. Chasing Dreams will uplift anyone’s mind. Readers will understand the value of never giving up, even if the whole world is against them, as it encourages them to stand by their convictions.

The book will show Iffy’s humble beginnings and how her business started. When she began her business, Iffy was married and wanted to have a child. She could have stopped, but she pursued her dreams instead.

“I believed God for like seven years. But the year I started my business, I first traveled to China. And while I was there, it was in China that I went to the hospital and found out that I was pregnant. That means I started from the first day of pregnancy. And I could have stopped, but I already leased a shop,” Iffy shared.

Iffy cited her focus, attitude, and determination as the key factors that enabled her to succeed. She wants to inspire her readers to believe that no constraints can stop them, whether about their business or career path when they stay positive despite the odds.

“There is always light at the end of the tunnel. And whatever you believe in, consult it. I believe in God. I pray. And I want you that if you have all these big dreams with determination, focus, good work, pray it through,” Iffy added.

The Limitless Power of Determination

Iffy hopes those who read her book will know there is power in one’s determination.

“I don’t want people to limit themselves. They shouldn’t limit themselves. They should dream big. And when you dream big, don’t go and sit down and be smiling. I’ve dreamt. You’ve got to put good effort into it. Good strength,” Iffy said.

Iffy also stressed the importance of being positive and learning to smile despite the obstacles they face. She highlighted the importance of leading by serving, whether one is a retailer or an entrepreneur.

“Learn to smile through obstacles. Always try to be the more mature person. If you’re a retailer, if you’re an entrepreneur, if you’re in charge, you’ve got to be a servant leader. You’ve got to lead by serving. So every time, be the best person you can be anywhere you find yourself. It’s not only in retail,” Iffy added.

The True Essence of Success

Each person has a different view of success. Some believe it’s about having the fattest bank account; others think it’s about being the most beautiful and popular. For Iffy, it’s all about how a person serves others. She encouraged her readers to embody and choose positivity despite judgment.

“I want people that read my book to have that positive vibe. The positivity that when you are the best you can be, you will attain success. And success is not only in your bank account. Success is in how you impact others and how you serve others. You know, you’re retailing and making money, but you are serving the community,” Iffy stated.
