Our God Still Speaks: Real-life Stories of How God Answers Prayers – Book 1 by Virginia Stewart Metzler is a written memorial of God’s repeated answers to prayer. The book chronicles Virginia’s experiences as a missionary. Through her journey, she shares the lessons she learned about God and life.
Virginia and her former husband, Tommy, went on to share the words of God in Africa. When Tommy, a pilot, died in a tragic plane crash, Virginia went back with her children to Texas. She processed everything before she returned to finding love and doing missionary duties.
She met and dated Les. They had a number of fallout because Virginia wanted to know how he loved God. She wasn’t certain about his answers, so she rejected him a couple of times, until she understood his perspective towards God. They got married in God and in love. There, they shared the words of God as they embarked on an all-new experience with the people, learn more about the culture, and found new family. The author describes this book as her “stack of stones” as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a recall to the story of the Israelites in the Old Testament as they crossed the Jordan River when Joshua stacked up stones as a memorial to God.
