About the Authors

Nicki Collins Geigert is an educator, travel writer, and professional photographer. She is from Carlsbad, California. Geigert’s career as an educator spans over four decades. She has conducted numerous workshops for The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD). Geigert also helps organize national and regional early childhood organizations. Nicki Collins Geigert is also a renowned early childhood motor development consultant. 

Dr. Carol Totsky Hammett is a retired elementary school principal and adjunct college instructor in Oregon. She has worked as a physical education specialist, a prekindergarten teacher, and an early childhood special education teacher for over 25 years. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership, studying how learning through movement can enhance vocabulary development in kindergarten and first-grade children. Just like Nicki Collins Geigert, Dr. Hammett is a global consultant on many topics in early education.
