Joseph Turchi is a life coach who has been on the job for over 30 years. He’s the author of a highly encouraging and incredibly helpful book titled The Quotationary Manifesto: A Positive Daily Dose of Inspiration To Instill Motivation and Undergo Transformation. He recently appeared on the “Author’s Corner” segment of the syndicated radio program “America Tonight with Kate Delaney” to talk about his book.
The Quotationary Manifesto is a book that brings together a number of inspirational sayings cleverly designed to raise up a reader’s spirits on a wide range of topics. Many of these quotes are also taken from a lot of familiar names and positive influences in Joe’s life. On the other hand, he also wrote plenty of these on his own as his career gave him the rich opportunity to coach a diverse range of people (and their unique situations).
It is through his book that he now hopes he will continue to help others and really brighten their day.
Books Change Lives
If there was one thing that really motivated Joe to write his book, it was the fact that his own life was transformed by the written page.
A Philadelphia native, Joe actually grew up with poor parents as well as nine siblings. On some days, they couldn’t even afford to have breakfast because his father couldn’t keep up with the bills.
It was not the greatest feeling to have growing up. At the time, Joe’s prospects for his future were rather dim. And while he was eventually fortunate enough to attend college, he didn’t even think he’d get that far.
Still, this was when books began to make a gradual (and then incredible) impact on his life. While studying at Penn State, he struggled as a student because of his aversion to long hours of reading, but he was at least finally being compelled to. The final push came when he finished his studies and became an educator himself.
That was when he saw that his annual salary amounted to no more than $8,900.
This figure made him realize that he was hardly going to fare any better than his parents and that this was something he urgently needed to change.
“Readers Are Leaders”
Joe’s decision to turn his life around was soon followed by more intense, dedicated reading. He began reading books on real estate. Eventually, he even created a system for investing in real estate properties that finally improved his fortunes.
That was not the only thing he began to read, though. This was the point where he could finally affirm how much reading could not only educate but also steer a reader towards more empowering mindsets.
Like many who had been striving and aspiring for success, Joe became a fan of books by great motivational minds such as Robert Kiyosaki and Napoleon Hill.
Through them, he realized just how books can go such a long way in helping someone raise their self-confidence and transform their life. As he wrote in The Quotationary Manifesto, “Readers are leaders, and leaders are readers.”
A Handy Tool for Daily Positivity
Regarding the book itself, Joe decided to model the dictionary for its format. But rather than arrange the quotes themselves alphabetically, he did it for the topics.
That way, the book becomes a handy, day-to-day resource guide for anyone who wants some form of positive reinforcement on a particular subject. These include family life, marriage, workplace relationships, and financial planning, as well as general wisdom.
Like many motivational authors, Joe understands just how powerful it can be when a person finally decides to break from a negative mindset. On the other hand, books have proven to be some of the most effective tools for that goal. His publishing of The Quotationary Manifesto is his way of ensuring more people have access to positively uplifting material whenever they need it.
