Jesus loves little children, and that’s a fact. Heartwarming stories of Jesus’ interactions with children show what we can learn from them.

Numerous heartwarming stories of Jesus’ interactions with children are available. These stories show us His deep love, compassion, and tenderness toward them. They reveal significant details about the treasures Jesus bestowed on children. They can serve as powerful lessons that even adults can pick up.

5 Heartwarming Stories of Jesus Around Children

As we explore these five heartwarming stories of Jesus’ interactions with children, we should take this as a demonstration of who He is. Moreover, this exploration of His life should be an emulating example for our kids to follow.

1. Jesus Blessing the Children

People were bringing their children to Jesus so that He could bless them. But, the disciples rebuked the children for not being careless in approaching Him. However, Jesus was indignant and said,

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:13-16)

He then took the children in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. This kind gesture exemplifies how Jesus showed His love and care for children. We should take heart and be inspired by his recognition of their inherent worth in the kingdom of God.

2. The Healing of a Young Girl

In the gospel of Mark, we witness Jesus’ remarkable healing power. Right when He encountered a desperate father named Jairus who sought Jesus’ help in healing his dying daughter. Furthermore, while on the way to Jairus’ house, messengers arrived with the devastating news of the girl’s passing. However, Jesus assured the grieving father, saying:

“Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

Upon reaching the house, Jesus lovingly took the girl’s hand and commanded her to rise. Miraculously, the young girl was restored to life, bringing immense joy and hope to her family. This story proves how Jesus’ ability can bring healing and restoration to the lives of children and their families.

3. Jesus Feeding the Five Thousand

The Gospel of John reveals the miraculous account of Jesus feeding a vast crowd of people. The estimated amount was five thousand, but that didn’t include women and children yet. So, imagine what the actual number would be like in terms of accuracy. On another note, feeding these people became possible with only five loaves of bread and two fish.

As the disciples expressed concern over food scarcity, Jesus took the small offering from a young boy. Then, He multiplied it to feed the entire multitude who followed Him that day. This extraordinary act satisfied the people’s physical hunger and demonstrated how Jesus cared for everyone, including children. It also teaches us a valuable lesson in trusting God, even with our limited resources.

After all, our God is generous and gracious in opening the floodgates of Heaven to provide for His people. And regardless of how big or small our offerings are, as long as our hearts are in the right place, God can bless us and increase our abundance.

4. Jesus’ Teachings On Humility

When the disciples asked Jesus about greatness in the kingdom of Heaven, He imparted a valuable lesson on humility. Then, Jesus called a little child to stand among them and said that unless they changed and became like children, they would not enter the kingdom of Heaven.

By shedding light on the child’s innocence, humility, and trust, we can see the importance of approaching God with childlike faith. Furthermore, this story teaches us that true greatness in God’s eyes lies in embodying childlike qualities such as humility, trust, and a pure heart.

5. The Widow’s Offering

While it may not be a direct interaction with a child, this story is marked as one of the most heartwarming stories of Jesus. The story of the widow’s offering in Mark 12:41-44 shows how Jesus appreciated the sacrificial giving of those with childlike faith.

Moreover, Jesus observed a poor widow who gave two small coins to the temple treasury. That was all she had to live on, yet she gave her all to the Lord with complete trust and dependence. Recognizing her act of devotion and sacrificial giving, Jesus praised her, saying:

“Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.”

What do we learn from this? It reminds us that Jesus values and honors sincere offerings, no matter how small. Furthermore, when given with a pure and selfless heart, God will honor it fully and bless you tenfold.
