The author recently appeared on the “Author’s Corner” segment of the syndicated radio program “America Tonight with Kate Delaney,” hosted by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Kate Delaney, to talk about her Christian self-help book.
Doris LaVonne’s Somewhere in the Middle: I Found Me offers readers a glimpse of the author’s life and how she walked through different tests and trials God had in store for her. Her life story gives readers encouragement and inspiration on how they can also deal with their challenges. Doris was mandated by God to write her story and share it with others to encourage them. The book features a clear view of how the readers can also make it through their tests and trials.
Recently, on “America Tonight with Kate Delaney,” Doris shared about her inspiration for Somewhere in the Middle. She also dug deep into how the book can change lives and nations through God’s words.
Created by Divine Design
Kate Delaney asked Doris how she came up with her ideas about the book. She also commended Doris for the book’s title. Doris said that the book had been “created by divine design.” She then narrated how the ideas came up to her early in the morning.
“God woke me up 3:33 in the morning and gave me the outline of the book and chose the way He wanted the cover to be designed and everything. He gave me the book title.”
It’s a Testimony
Kate was curious about the book as well and asked Doris if she could tell the listeners about her book.
“The book is my testimony, and inside of the book is saturated with portions of my life that God wants me to share with the nations. When He mandated for me to write the book, He said that the book would bring healing to me and to the nations, and that it would save lives!”
Doris also added that God told her which stories to include in her book. He didn’t allow her to keep it to herself when He chose some of the things she’d gone through to be published in the book. She believes that others who would read it will be encouraged.
God is a Restorer
Doris LaVonne’s Somewhere in the Middle features a chapter called “God is a Restorer (He will give you double for your trouble).” Kate Delaney asked Doris about what she meant by the chapter’s statement.
“The things that you go through are not just for you. People watch your life sometimes to see the things that you go through and watch how you come through and how God delivers you out of it. Everything is so much greater, so much better because God brought us through, and that’s what I mean by double for your trouble. He will multiply what you’ve lost, and He will give it back to you in greater portions.”
“He wanted to share my story with the world.”
Doris also shared with Kate how important it is for her to have written this book and how it was divinely given to her.
“God wanted to share my story with the world because not only did He say it would bring healing to me but also to the nations. So there had to be somewhere for the nations to be able to read it and to observe the things that took place.”
God Loves Us Unconditionally
Kate Delaney asked Doris LaVonne about a statement in the book, “God loves us unconditionally.” She proceeded to ask the author if this was hard for people to grasp. Doris said that it’s “a gift.” She said, “We can never do anything to earn his love. He loves us. He created us, and it doesn’t matter what we’ve done, where we’ve been, or who we are. He loves us, and we need only to receive the love that He has for us and receive His gift of salvation.”
The Takeaway
Doris LaVonne hopes that her listening audience and everyone reading this article will get the book, read it for themselves so they can receive what God has for them and what He wants to do in their lives. She is grateful for every door God has opened and every platform He is using to share the story that He wants told.
“My testimony is the message that He wants to get to the nations. And the purpose is to take advantage of every platform that God has given me to speak about the book and to encourage people to read it and to receive what He has for them and what He wants to do for them in their lives.”
