The gift of helping implies that being blessed enough to give is an opportunity to do good in fulfillment of God’s work.

One of the simplest acts of kindness is to help.

To help others is to have a meaningful life in service to God.

Carrying each other’s burdens does not mean we are required to take away the pain of others or save them from misery, but rather, it means helping them along their way to God as we walk beside them. Simply accompanying them toward God is one way of helping them in their spiritual journey, leading them to triumph. God would be delighted for us to be stewards of faith and help others.

The book Servant’s Heart by Jamie Pulos-Fry tackles God’s mission for us to be the best volunteer He would like us to become. It highlights how volunteering involves sacrifice, faith, humility, and compassion. Through His guidance, he walks beside us by faith to serve Him and help others. To think of other people’s welfare is one of the ways we can serve God. Selflessness is what He wants us to possess as HIs volunteers. Being kind is vital to living a selfless yet fulfilling life.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

—Matthew 25:35-40

Treating others like family is sharing your resources, home, and time with them, prioritizing God’s glory.

Uncovering family secrets in Jamie Pulos-Fry’s book delves into the importance of family, teaching us happiness, strength, love, and forgiveness. Family is beyond blood. It is far more than that. That’s why we should always consider other people and always lend a helping hand. Uncovering family secrets in Jamie Pulos-Fry’s book also implies uncovering valuable lessons.

The Importance of Empathy

The gift of helping also implies we love and care for one another. When we love, we feel the need to empathize. Empathy is seeing the other person’s perspective by putting yourself in their shoes. It is the ability to feel and understand their side. To be empathetic, we must learn to listen and understand others without judgment.

Many people are suffering from homelessness, and it is our duty as servants of God to drive change for the betterment. The challenges faced by these people must be addressed. Some of us are privileged in life because we are sheltered in the warmth of our homes with our basic needs already provided. If we are given this blessing, there is no need to hesitate to help and give.

We are blessed enough to give, even if we only have a bit to give. That small blessing we offer to others makes a huge difference to them. Thus, the small blessings we share already lift a considerable amount of burden from these homeless people. The gift of helping we hold fulfills the law of God.

Moreover, empathy, generosity, and compassion are also embarked in uncovering family secrets in Jamie Pulos-Fry’s book. Families can volunteer together to create lasting memories, strengthening the bond between members while positively impacting the community and the world.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

—Galatians 6:2

We are not alone. In life, there is always company.

We are created to love our brothers and sisters.
