It’s impossible for any human to understand how God’s plan works because our minds simply cannot fathom His greatness and intellect.

Thomas Fitzhugh SheetsThomas Fitzhugh Sheets, author of On That Day, talks about the first book, “The Death of the Promise,” regarding the trilogy of the message he wants to convey. In Thomas’ own words, “Inside, you will find three books written without knowing how it would all end.” Now, this is interesting because it implies that there’s almost a divine being guiding Thomas to write the book.

With Thomas not even knowing how to end these books, one could say that this is yet another showcase of God’s unfathomable ways. However, is there a way for us to at least get an inkling of what God’s plans are?

Bible Verses That Talk About God’s Plan for Everyone

Believe it or not, scripture abounds with references to God’s purpose for His people. We can find numerous verses that explain what God says concerning our life and our purpose in the Bible with just a bit of research. Living with intent and purpose can be facilitated by accepting that God is working out a plan, remaining steadfast in our faith, and having complete trust in him.

Let’s examine what God has spoken about His purpose for us. Maybe this can help you find your calling in life.

1. Psalm 32:8

This line is taken from a specific moment in which David becomes very near to the Lord. Psalm 32:8 highlights the promise God made when He said David would be kept under observation. Aside from that, God will also advise David to make sure he stays on the correct course.

The same is true for everyone who loves God. And the only reason God is able to lead and counsel us is because of His purpose for our life.

2. Proverbs 16:9

This scripture from the Bible serves as a helpful reminder that although everyone is free to plan and prepare for the future, God is the authority who will ultimately direct those plans. With that said, understanding how God’s plan works is essential for our soul’s survival. Reading “The Death of the Promise” will also help us better accept the fact that nothing here on earth is permanent except for death.

Future-focused considerations like professions and family are important. But we should also keep in mind how God works out his plan for our life. We should trust that everything will go just as God has intended from the start.

3. Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11, arguably the most well-known and consoling passage in the Bible, calms the nerves of many individuals who are uncertain about the future. It makes sense because the verse makes it abundantly evident that God knows exactly the course He wants us to follow.

4. 1 Corinthians 2:9

People frequently attempt to foresee the future and anticipate what will occur. We feel more in charge of our lives as a result of this. However, God’s plan is something that is completely invisible to us. This scripture from the Bible tells us that what God has in store for His people is beyond our wildest dreams.

5. Romans 8:28

This chapter of the scriptures teaches us that everyone who is a part of God’s people and those who serve in Christ is included in His plan. We are confident that everything will transpire “according to his will” and that we are not required to be aware of His plans. All we need to do is simply have faith and trust that God wants what is best for us.

There Is Comfort in Not Fully Knowing How God’s Plan Works

While our calculating and anxious minds would tell us that we need to know everything, God lets us know that it doesn’t have to be that way. God assures us that He is indeed working on our lives and that the best is yet to come. There is certainly comfort in knowing that God has got our backs.
